Personally, I don’t celebrate Valentine’s Day. Not touching on religious view, but to me, I feel the day is just like any other day. That being said, I’m not against those who do celebrate it by showing extra love to their partner and friends (or as they call it, Galentine’s Day), on this date.
Anyway, the hotel staff rang our doorbell just now. They usually come around this time to return the clothes I send out for laundry in the morning. But to my surprise, she brought more than just our freshly cleaned clothes – a purple rose, a chocolate bar, and a paper scroll tied with a huge blue ribbon to be exact.
Content of the scroll
Had to rely on Google Translator.
Obviously it’s not accurate because they even got the name of the hotel wrong, lol.
Although I was caught off guard, I was not entirely dazzled. Valentine’s Day, I assume, is a big deal here based on my observation. They go all out in promoting chocolates and roses at the supermarket. Or perhaps those were for Cap Goh Mei (Chinese Valentine’s Day), which they celebrated last Saturday. This one time, I even found a boobs cake being sold out in the open among baked goods!
Complete with pink nipple LOL!
So although I (and Em both) don’t celebrate Valentine’s, I still think it was a nice gesture from the hotel. I’m gonna leave them on Em’s bedside table and see his reaction when he gets back from the office .
