I love planners, but I haven’t been using them religiously for the past years. Apart from getting free planners from my mom’s company every year, I have been buying Moleskine’s for the past few years. I don’t necessarily jot things in it all the time, but I do feel it makes me more organised. In terms of making a mental note on what to write, and ending up just remembering the things to do, without having to actually write them down.
Does that make sense to you? Lol.
But I do rely on my phone and post-its a lot. Which is something that I plan to change. I’m lucky my cleaning lady isn’t fluent in English and doesn’t understand Malay, so I don’t mind her seeing my P&C notes, but I’m getting tired of having to peel the notes off my refrigerator and hide them when my friends come over, especially when it’s a surprise visit .
Last year I got a planner from dUCk – because of the hype. My dUCkscarves phase was already over by then, but when they came out with stationeries, I wanted to give it a shot. I ended up not using much of the planner because 1) I had a terrible year so I was going F it the entire year LOL; 2) The planner was too simple and it was lacking.
This year, I decided to start using a planner more perpetually and one way to ensure that I will do it, was to invest in a fancy one that will burn a hole in my pocket (this includes shipping). I have been eyeing Erin Condren Life Planner throughout 2016, but I wasn’t sure if I wanted to get it, because of the depreciating value of Ringgit, and the shipping price was insane.
So I did what everyone else would do – I got a second opinion. I made a survey and was then introduced to brands I’ve never heard of, but none caught my heart as it was already won over by the Life Planner . That’s when I knew I really wanted it, so I finally decided to get it.
Shopping for and customising the planner was so much fun! I customised a bunch of things, before I was certain I wanted a basic planner with minimal customisation. They are already so pretty! I made some calculations but with the shipping price, it was so expensive .
I am an impulsive shopper, but this one, I actually slept on it for a few nights. I wasn’t sure if it was the right thing to do, to spend that much money on a planner; on a beautiful, beautiful, planner. My brain then came up with a justification,
“It’s okay. Technically you’ll only be spending MYR30 each month for the planner. That’s only one ringgit per day. So each day you don’t use it, you’ll waste one ringgit. So use it everyday.“
AND THEN I WAS SOLD JFHBSFNBDSMFNASFNAMN THANKS BRAIN.
Hahahah but seriously, it kinda makes sense LOL so yes, thank you brain, you’ve made your owner very, very happy. 너무 너무 행복해요~
Love the packaging!
The parcel was supposed to arrive the week Em would be in China for his business trip, but thanks to Korea’s efficient delivery service, it arrived the week before, and Em was the one to receive it . I had not exactly broke the news yet to him then, so I was kinda kantoi. Kind of happy (the parcel arrived early) but also kind of annoyed (the parcel arrived early), hahah.
There were plenty of free gifts, too! I ordered the Life Planner, meal planner, and to-do-list dashboard. But I received all kinds of other accessories and add-ons, so I guess the shipping was kind of worth it lol.
To-do-list and meal planner dashboards
I thought it would be sheets of paper, but instead it’s a reusable laminated paper of which I need to write with whiteboard markers. Eco-friendly, so it seems.
I love using the non-lined to-do-list dashboard, since I have always loved non-lined papers better.
And because of this surprise, it was only natural for me to purchase whiteboard marker(s). I need them to write with after all, am I right ?
I’m loving the Life Planner so far, it’s… amazing, and life changing. I’ve become more productive, and I love it (I think Em loves it too lol). The Life Planner literally helps you plan out your life. See how I am blogging more this year (so far)? Hihi.
I would buy from them every month if we live in the USA. There are just too many good stuff on the site . Until then, I’ll just wait for a free international shipping promotion, if that will ever happen hihi.
